the beginning of the end

You became my life even though I was only a chapter in yours,
A chapter with torn, dogeared and much thumbed pages.
As the bubble is about to burst, I cring,
For the cacophony of silence is unbearable.
The inevitable is close, but this seems too soon,
The selfishness in me wants to have it all, till I am no more.
The feeling is like a kite, high in the skies,
Suddenly cut free, in a gravityless fall.
Oh what would I give for another moment together,
Oh what I can do for a lifetime together.
