Our hands brushed as we walked,
side-by-side together yet alone in our thoughts;
The summer breeze was cool at night,
And the moon hid behind her smokey veil;
We walked aimlessly,yet with a purpose,
A purpose we knew not, nor we wish to realize;
For our paths had crossed and we were travellers on the same path,
But not for long as our destinations seemed poles apart;
Yet we walked, under the half moon,
In the breeze still cool from the evening shower;
Stealing glimpses at each other,
And then getting lost in our thoughts;
A playful sprinkle of drops from branches still wet from the rain,
And an excuse to hold her in my arms;
We spoke and sat silently,
While the crickets played their orchestra;
Barefoot she tread the grass,
The leaves glistening as if with dew drops;
Her frolicking gait charmed me,
As i watched her unbashed;
The night was still, but time was not,
We had to depart but we wished not;
Like kites in the open sky,
Soaring together but with strings attached;
that's awesome awesome true emotion!
